COURSE DESCRIPTION: INTRODUCTION TO ACTING
FALL-WINTER 2014-15
CLASS 1: AGES 6-11
CLASS 2: AGES 12-17
This six month course introduces the basics of acting and provides a foundation and format
where young actors can HAVE FUN, learn to appreciate being challenged, develop skills to
deal with each challenge and to feel great about the final result. This course will allow students
to work with other actors, learning new aspects like how to “pitch and throw” to another actor,
lines, emotions, movement and ensemble work…
TERM: September 15 - March (24 classes total. See schedule below)
SCHEDULE CLASS 1 (6-11 year olds): Tuesdays 5:30-6:20 p.m. OR Thursdays 5:30-6:20 p.m.
SCHEDULE CLASS 2 (12-17 year olds): Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m. OR Thursdays 5:30-6:30 p.m.
TUITION: $195 per month / Sibling price $175 per month
Please note that some course projects/performances will be scheduled on weekends
Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis

Aleta Barnes
Aleta Barnes has, for most of her life, been a teacher of all ages of Speech, Communication, Acting, Stage Production, Radio and Television. She holds both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree, in the Speech, Drama and Communications fields. This wide variety of experience enables her to deliver a well rounded curriculum in performance arts. Former students of Ms. Barnes have gone on to college with drama scholarships and directly into the fields of acting for film, television, and the stage. Proficient in numerous techniques, Ms. Barnes is able to deliver a unique experience to students of all levels. Even those that have no experience in the acting field, soon become comfortable, and enjoy the instruction, learning, activities and ensemble work that are at the base of many skills for an actor.
Jason Hewitt
Producer, Director and Founder of Films In Motion, Jason Hewitt has a resume that includes over 140 feature films in addition to a number of television and commercials projects. Jason's expertise and direction will help position students for placement in feature films and television based on his own experience in selecting roles for his numerous projects. Additionally, through Jason's involvement, students will have access to Louisiana and LA based experts who will share tips and skills across a number of key competencies for young actors. The Films In Motion Young Actors' Academy stems directly from Jason's own desire to nuture and grow regional talent for casting in feature films and television production.
Lisa Marie Dupree
Lisa has cast hundreds of roles for television, film and commercials. She is an expert in regional talent and is regularly called upon not only for casting with Films In Motion projects, but as a Casting Director for numerous productions shooting within Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and other states in the region.
